Membership Benefits

Through Mill City Commons, members build meaningful connections to the people, activities and resources they need to maintain vibrant lives in their neighborhood homes.

Any questions?

The benefits of village membership go well beyond the programs and support covered by your dues.

Our members tell us that the connections, friendships, improved health and engagement they find here are invaluable.

Courteous, Friendly Staff

We're ready to help you take advantage of everything we have to offer, including help navigating our members-only website where you can register for an event or find a needed resource using our First Stop Guide. If you don't find what you're looking for, our staff will help you search for options.

Peer to Peer Support

Members of Mill City Commons stand ready to share their own experiences as they developed personal solutions to life's transitions. We hope that you will also share your experience so that we all can benefit from the wisdom of the community.

Social, Educational, Cultural and Wellness Programs

Both no-cost and nominally fee-based, these regularly scheduled programs run the gamut of opportunities from potlucks and happy hours, museum tours, to foreign policy discussion groups. We also offer Aging Well programming to help members navigate life's twists and turns.

First Stop Guide

This online guide offers members “one stop shopping” for a variety of needs -- from a techie to set up your wireless Internet connection, to dog walkers and caterers, to a referral for home health care or a geriatric care manager.

Volunteer Opportunities

Find opportunities to help other members and/or the local community, and join fellow members in planning and coordinating the enriching programs that are the hallmark of Mill City Commons.

Trial Membership

Our spring trial membership is now closed. Check back again soon, or email our office to learn about upcoming opportunities to try us out!

Reduced Fee Membership

We recognize that the income needed to maintain independence and meet an individual's daily expenses varies based on life circumstances.

Our reduced fee membership enables our neighbors with lower incomes to join and integrate fully into Village life. If your annual income is below $45,000 as an individual, or $51,000 as a household, you are eligible to apply. Because reduced fee memberships are supported by donations, we must limit them to two per month.

Individual: $325
Household: $550

I am in great health and middle-aged. What’s my incentive to join?
I am in great health and middle-aged. What’s my incentive to join?
We believe that chronological age is just a number and welcome the personal growth that comes from multi-generational interactions and connections. Our mission is to enhance the lifestyle of all members; we offer opportunities to work with staff to design programs, interest groups and social events that are meaningful for you today knowing that they will be available and continue to enrich your life tomorrow.

In addition, at any age, changes in health can be both sudden and dramatic. By becoming an active member of Mill City Commons today, you will have in place a trusted, familiar community that you can rely on to help you deal with an illness or recovery from surgery.
