Responding to member enthusiasm for public policy programs, an ongoing series is being launched this month.  Dane Smith, president of Growth & Justice, a policy research center, will kick off the series with a presentation titled Workforce Equity for a Competitive Economy: Minnesota’s Most Important Policy Challenge.  He will offer a robust overview of the dramatic demographic shifts facing Minnesota, including a looming labor shortage for key skills, a “graying and browning” of the general population, and some of the worst racial disparities in employment and educational attainment, from birth to career.  He will also outline a menu of promising responses.  Click link here for a recent Star Tribune opinion piece on the topic.
