About this event
In the first half of the 20th century, Germany underwent dramatic political and social change - from the final years of the German Empire and World War I to the Weimar Republic, the rise of Nazism, World War II, and the Holocaust. Throughout this turbulent period, art both reflected and challenged the forces shaping society.
This exhibition features more than 70 paintings and sculptures from Berlin’s Neue Nationalgalerie (New National Gallery), tracing four decades of German artistic expression. From the bold innovations of Expressionism to the sharp social critiques of New Objectivity, artists responded to a rapidly changing world, until many were silenced under Nazi rule.
Join us for a guided tour of this powerful exhibition and its exploration of art, politics, and the lasting impact of war.
Complimentary tickets will be provided. Space is limited to 20 participants.
We will meet outside of the Target Galleries around 10:10 am and be ready to start the tour promptly at 10:15 am.
