About this event

What’s the unexpected prescription for healthier aging? Partner dance. Research shows that partner dance can reduce dementia risk by an astonishing 76%more than any other form of exercise, and can even ease symptoms of Parkinson’s disease. Beyond the physical boosts, dance fosters connection, community, and joy, helping to combat depression and isolation.

You may know MCC member Ember Reichgott Junge as a former Minnesota state senator and current broadcast political analyst—but she’s also an amateur ballroom dancer and the author of the forthcoming book, The Dance of Resilience (to be released January 13, 2026).

Join us as Ember lifts the curtain on the remarkable health benefits of partner dance, weaving in compelling stories, including her own, of how dance supports aging, resilience, and healing. And she doesn’t stop there: some doctors are now prescribing dance sessions, with insurers beginning to cover them. Ember will close with a call to action to bring partner dance fully into insured healthcare as a way to improve well-being and reduce costs for all.

Interested in carpooling? Click on the registrant list and find a member in your building or near you that you can connect with and ask to share a ride. Or, feel free to contact the MCC office for a suggestion.
