About this event

Are you passionate about your own fitness and wellness? Do you think about how access to these opportunities can differ dramatically across communities? Are you inspired by leadership that truly works—rooted in equity, vision, and community?

Join us to learn how Malik Rucker, Executive Director of V3 Sports, and his team are redefining what community wellness looks like in North Minneapolis. The $26 million, 45,000-square-foot V3 Sports facility is more than a fitness center—it’s a movement. Located in a historically underinvested yet vibrant part of the city, V3 serves as a catalyst for equitable access to health, recreation, and opportunity.

A North Minneapolis native, Malik and V3 Sports have worked closely with residents to ensure that V3 reflects their voices and needs. From programs that promote physical fitness and water safety to out-of-school and STEAM opportunities for youth, V3 fosters both individual growth and community connection.

And there’s a family legacy of leadership here, too—Malik is the son of Chanda Smith Baker, who spoke with us earlier this year and now leads the Saint Paul & Minnesota Foundation.

Come hear how Malik and the V3 Sports team are building a healthier, more connected future for Minneapolis—one that’s as inspiring as it is impactful.

This program has been postponed and will be rescheduled at a later time.
