About this event

MCC is partnering with TPT's Viewers Like Us Program for a series of programs to explore and discuss thought-provoking videos. This first set of three programs will be focused on Native American culture and history.

For this final video in this series, we will view The American Buffalo: Native Identity and Culture. The American Buffalo takes viewers on a journey through more than 10,000 years of North American history and across some of the continent’s most iconic landscapes. The film traces the American buffalo’s evolution, its significance to the Indigenous people and landscape of the Great Plains, its near extinction, and the efforts to bring the magnificent mammals back from the brink.

Together, we will discuss the sacred relationship between Native Americans and the American Buffalo, how they have existed for thousands of years and how their lives are intertwined. We will watch the video together, then we will have a discussion hosted by trained TPT facilitators.

For those staying in Minnesota, we we do encourage you to attend the series in-person, but individuals can participate virtually as well.
